How to Host a Fun Thanksgiving According to Caterer to the Stars Mary Giuliani
The A-list caterer, who has worked with Stella McCartney, Bradley Cooper, and Carolina Herrera, shares her tips for hosting Thanksgiving dinner
Mary Giuliani, the lovely, irreverent, and wildly talented A-list caterer to stars such as Stella McCartney, the Seinfeld family, Bradley Cooper, Carolina Herrera, and the Rolling Stones, has a set of golden rules when hosting the ultimate dinner devoted to gratitude. First, less is more, and second, Thanksgiving should be spent with family and friends, not with a caterer. We spoke to Giuliani and gathered some tips from her fantastic new entertaining book, The Cocktail Party—Eat, Drink, Play, Recover, for making this year’s feast the most delicious, the most fun, and the most memorable one yet.
1. Let the music play. While you’re prepping for the party, make it fun by throwing on some tunes. Giuliani’s Thanksgiving playlist includes: “Sing for Your Supper” (The Mamas and the Papas), “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” (Diana Ross), “Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Theme” (Vince Guaraldi), “The Thanksgiving Song” (Adam Sandler), “Thanks for the Memory” (Ella Fitzgerald), “Shelter from the Storm” (Bob Dylan), and “Thank You” (Sly and the Family Stone).
