People always ask me what I do on weekends to relax from my hectic life of throwing parties. The answer: I throw parties. I guess I’m truly doing what I love because the weekends are my favorite time to do just that—to create environments in which people are completely relaxed and ready to eat, drink, and be very, very merry.
I come by this passion not just by way of my profession but also via my maternal grandmother, Lucille, the ultimate party hostess. Lucille arrived in Montauk when she opened The Wavecrest in the 1950s and was known far and wide for her super-sparkly parties, full of the most interesting people. So, as I prepare for my inaugural Hamptons summer party, I’m going to take a page from Grandma’s book and encourage all of you to imagine the most diverse guest list possible. A creative guest list like this, plus an inventive menu comprised of mini Montauk lobster rolls paired with a perfectly chilled cucumber lemonade and vodka cocktail, and everyone will be dying to get on your list.
